And to finish, a couple of videos:

A Simple Goal, week 9.

20 st 12 lbs.

And a little bit more…

Pride.

I’m sitting here writing a youth session on the life of Daniel. With references to Jesus and the martyrdom of Stephen, sacrifice and the willingness to make sacrifices for what you believe are themes that I keep returning to.

There is a documentary on the life and death (40 years ago today) of Martin Luther King, Jr playing on the TV in the background. The relevance is not lost on me.

Martin Luther King, Jr, 3 April 1968, Memphis:

And then I got to Memphis. And some began to say the threats, or talk about the threats that were out. What would happen to me from some of our sick white brothers? Well, I don't know what will happen now. We've got some difficult days ahead. But it doesn't matter with me now. Because I've been to the mountaintop. And I don't mind. Like anybody, I would like to live a long life. Longevity has its place. But I'm not concerned about that now. I just want to do God's will. And He's allowed me to go up to the mountain. And I've looked over. And I've seen the promised land. I may not get there with you. But I want you to know tonight, that we, as a people, will get to the promised land. And I'm happy, tonight. I'm not worried about anything. I'm not fearing any man. Mine eyes have seen the glory of the coming of the Lord.

Home alone.

A little frivolity for the first day in April.

MacBook + webcam (Xbox LIVE Vision, if you must know) + iStopMotion time lapse function + us out for the evening = the answer to something we had wondered: what does the dog get up to when we go out of the house?

(The stuff sitting on the sofa is there to discourage her from using it as a bed — not just because we’re a bit untidy :-)

A Simple Goal, week 8.

20 st 13 lbs.

On account of spending the three days of StreetReach Lisburn eating junk.
